Rhino or MatrixGold to a listing, in five minutes
If the design lives in Rhino — or in MatrixGold, RhinoGold or Panther, which sit on top of it — the path to a listing is the shortest the studio has, because the 3DM carries the stones. This is that path, step by step, with what to do in Rhino before you leave it.
In Rhino, before export: one minute
Put the stones on their own layer if they are not already. Make sure the piece is oriented the way it will be photographed — bail up, band vertical. Save as .3dm from a current Rhino. That is all; do not export STL or STEP for this path, the 3DM is the point.
Drop the 3DM in: a few seconds
Layers arrive as parts. The studio reads the file with McNeel's own rhino3dm library, so what Rhino sees is what arrives — no Rhino licence needed on the machine doing the rendering.
Stones from the file: one click
In the Stones step, From .3dm reads each stone's position and size from the file and places a real gem there — even when the file has no stone meshes at all, which is common in jewellery 3DMs. Forty pavé stones, placed at once, exactly where the designer put them.
Materials and lighting: one click
Auto Jewelry Setup: stones identified, metal on everything else, Pro Jewelry lighting. Change the karat if the piece is not 18K yellow.
Look, pose, pack: three clicks
Catalog Look for white. Upright or Tipped pose. Store listing pack. Four images at 2K land in your downloads with a contact sheet. Add the Social square pack for the hero and close-up, and a turntable video if the listing takes one. Everything here happens on your own machine: the file is converted and rendered in the browser through your GPU and is never uploaded, so an unreleased design stays unreleased.

Questions
Do I need Rhino installed to render a 3DM?
No. The studio reads .3dm in the browser with rhino3dm, McNeel's own library compiled to WebAssembly. The person rendering needs only the file.
My MatrixGold file has no stone meshes. Will the stones render?
Usually yes — jewellery 3DMs record each stone's position and size as an object even without a mesh, and From .3dm places real gems in those seats. This is the reason to use the 3DM rather than an STL export.
Should I export STEP from Rhino instead?
Not for a ring with stones — STEP does not carry the stone positions. For a metal-only piece STEP and 3DM render alike.
