Privacy Policy

1. Your files and your renders

When you open a CAD file, the browser reads it from your disk and converts it locally. The geometry lives in the page’s memory for as long as the tab is open and is discarded when you close it. Images and video you export are written straight to your downloads folder by the browser.

We never see the file, its name, its contents, or the pictures you make from it. This is not a promise about how carefully we store your work — it is that there is nowhere for it to be stored.

2. What we measure

We use Google Analytics 4 (through Firebase) and Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the studio is used — which materials people pick, how long a render takes on real hardware, and where people stop. This is the only way to know what to fix.

These measurements deliberately exclude:

• File names — a file called Client_Ring_Final.stl would leak a client
• Any geometry, model data, or rendered image
• Anything you type

What they do contain is shape: which catalogue design was opened, which material was applied, roughly how many triangles a model had, and how many milliseconds something took. Error reports send the error’s type rather than its message, because a message can carry a path or a device name.

We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used — clicks, scrolling, and a replay of the interface as you moved through it. It is the only way to see why a step is confusing rather than merely that people stop there.

Your file’s name is masked before the recording leaves your browser, as are the names of the parts inside it. A file called Client_Ring_Final.stl would identify your customer, so those elements are replaced with asterisks in the page Clarity reconstructs — it never receives them. The 3D view itself is a canvas and is not captured at all, so no recording contains your geometry or your renders. What a replay shows is which buttons were pressed, in what order, and where the pointer went.

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity both set cookies and may process data on servers outside your country. You can opt out of Google Analytics for every site with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

3. Advertising

Rendermio is free, and advertising is what pays for it. We use Google AdSense (publisher ID pub-6171705531495084).

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Ads are shown alongside the studio. Nothing is ever placed in front of an export or in the way of a control — you never have to watch or click an advert to use anything here. The ad-free plan removes every ad; Google’s loader script is still present on the page, as it is site-wide, but it requests no advertising for a subscriber.

Consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message appears before any advertising cookie is set. It offers three choices — consent, do not consent, or manage individual purposes — and refusing is one tap, exactly as easy as accepting. Your choice is remembered and can be changed at any time from the same message. It is Google’s certified consent platform, so the record of what you chose is held by Google rather than by us.

4. Accounts and payment

Opening the studio asks you to sign in, which is how your plan stays with you. All we store against that account is your email address and whether a subscription is active — nothing else, and nothing about your designs, which never reach us at all.

Payments are handled entirely by PayPal. Card numbers and bank details are given to PayPal, never to us; we never see or store them. PayPal’s handling of your data is covered by PayPal’s own privacy statement.

5. What is stored in your browser

The studio remembers your preferences — which step you had open, your lighting and backdrop choices, export settings — in your browser’s own localStorage. This never leaves your machine and is not readable by us. Clearing your browser data clears it.

6. Your rights

Because we hold almost nothing, there is usually nothing to request. Where we do hold something — an email address against a subscription — you may ask us to show it, correct it, or delete it, and we will. Deleting it ends the subscription, since that record is the subscription.

7. Children

Rendermio is a professional design tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters — a new third party, a new kind of data — the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be announced on the site rather than made quietly.
