How to render earrings from a CAD file
Earrings are photographed as two, and most CAD files contain one. That single fact shapes everything else: whether you export a pair from the CAD program, how a drop hangs, and what a stud looks like head-on. Here is how the studio handles each kind.
One earring or two?
The studio renders what is in the file. If your CAD has a single earring, the honest options are to mirror it in the CAD program and export both, or to render one and present it as the product — which for a stud is normal and for a hoop is fine. There is no mirror button in the studio; duplicating in CAD takes seconds and gives you a real pair with correct spacing, so that is the recommendation.
Set the category to Earrings. It keeps the jewellery treatment and it tells the studio's material guesses what they are looking at.
Studs: head-on, close
A stud is a stone and a setting seen from the front. Upright pose, Front camera, Close-up for the hero. Auto Jewelry Setup finds the stone; the Traced renderer with Gallery lighting gives it contrast. The post is a part — give it the same metal, or a different one if it really is different, and remember it is usually hidden in the listing shot behind the setting.
Drops and dangles: they hang
A drop earring is designed hanging from a hook, and the CAD is usually modelled that way — hook at the top, drop below. The Upright pose keeps it that way. Leaning tips it toward the camera so the drop's face opens up; that is the most flattering pose for a drop with a stone. Do not use Flat lay for a drop: laid down, it looks like a component rather than a piece.
The hook is thin and can be missed by a coarse STL export. If it renders ragged, that is the file's tessellation — export finer, or use the STEP.
Hoops: the profile matters
A hoop is a ring, and the ring advice applies: Upright shows the face, Side shows the thickness, and a huggie hoop with a hinge has a clasp part worth its own finish. The Orbit video move circles the camera around a hoop and keeps the highlight fixed on the metal, which reads as a photograph rather than a spin.
Matched exports
Whatever you export, export both earrings from the same frame so they match. The Social square pack at Hero gives the pair a listing image; the Metal range pack gives you both in every gold. Everything here happens on your own machine: the file is converted and rendered in the browser through your GPU and is never uploaded, so an unreleased design stays unreleased.

Can the studio mirror one earring into a pair?
No — it renders what is in the file. Mirror the earring in your CAD program and export both; it takes seconds and gives a real pair with correct spacing. A single stud rendered on its own is also a normal listing image.
What pose for a drop earring?
Upright, or Leaning to tip the drop's face toward the camera. Never Flat lay — a drop laid down reads as a component.
Why does the hook look jagged?
The STL was exported at a coarse tolerance and the thin hook has too few triangles. Export finer from the CAD program, or export STEP, which keeps the exact curve.
